Hand-tied extensions are something that I have been wanting to get for awhile now. So, when I found out that my friend and owner Jen Crowe, of Crowe’s Nest Hair Studio in Tulsa, started offering them I knew I wanted to get them. The top photo is my before hair. Ya’ll my natural hair is SOO thin and fine I couldn’t wait to add in some thickness.
The whole process took about 4 hours from start to finish. I have 2 rows of 8 wefts. that are sewn into a a beaded track that she puts in my hair as close to my scalp as possible. When you first get them done your head is a little tender and will feel tight. However, by the time I woke up the next morning I didn’t have any tenderness. My favorite thing about the hand tied method is that I can do everything with my hair as I did when I didn’t have them. I wanted to make sure that I could still throw my hair up in a messy bun or pony tail, because lets be real I’m a mom and some days have zero time for beauty.
They last up to 1 year with good maintenance. So, invest in good products and only wash your hair once a week. The less you wash the better. As your hair grows so do the extensions so every 8 weeks or so you go back and they will move them up for you. Crowe’s Nest has everything you need in a hair salon and if you are in the Tulsa area give them a call.
