Happy Wednesday babes! Today I am sharing all about getting that natural tan glow, especially for y’all with pale skin and freckles like me. I used to be so afraid of self less tanner like I wouldn’t touch the stuff because I didn’t want to end up looking like an orange. But when my mom got malignant melanoma skin cancer I vowed to never go in a tanning bed again and be religious with my sun protection. Now for someone who doesn’t tan, like at all in the sun, without burning I needed to find a way to get my skin a nice tan glow. I am happy to say I have finally perfected my routine and want to share it with y’all!
I usually apply my self tanner at night after I have showered and exfoliated really well. I take my favorite lotion and apply a good amount on my ankles, knees, and elbows. Basically anywhere I don’t want the color to be too heavy or dark. Then I take my St. Tropez Classic Bronzing Mousse and put two pumps on the mitt, that you can get at Sephora, and work into my legs in circular motions. Next I move to my arms with one pump and after working it in I use whatever is left on the mitt to go up my neck from my arm and onto my shoulder blades. If I’m not wearing a swimsuit or anything I will stop there and be done with my body. Otherwise, I will do my chest and stomach as well.
The face is tricky. I don’t always tan my face, I will just use more bronzer the next day to match body. If I do decide to tan my face I use the Josie Maran Argan Liquid Gold Oil. It is perfect for the face because it is an oil and the color is very natural and subtle.
After it air drys I will wear loose clothes to bed and wake up with the perfect tan the next morning. Some people like to rinse off in the shower in the morning but I don’t usually do that.
