Let me just give you a second to go thru all the feels that those simple two words bring.
With three kids, I’m just going to say it, Summer can feel like hell (literally and figuratively). Between never-ending lists of activities to do with kids, summer reading programs, swim camp, music camp, science camp, you name it there’s a camp for it.
I’m just going to be honest
I CAN’T KEEP UP and frankly I don’t even want to.
I am refusing to schedule my kids summer away. They can be BORED.
Being bored is ok, it’s where creativity is fostered and new ideas grow. Don’t you remember being kids and your parents kicking you outside? What did you do? You went outside and created new worlds and new adventures. You built tree houses in the woods and found new trails to walk.
THAT IS CHILDHOOD!
Perfectly planned summers are NOT!
So what are my kids doing this summer you ask? Let me tell you.
They will be helping around the house, they’ll be getting groceries with me, and running errands.
They’ll being getting into trouble, fighting with each other, and learning to play together.
They’ll play outside, use their imagination, go swimming, and have fun.
They’ll be KIDS and they will be bored and you know what?
THAT IS OK!
