Every year when the new year rolls around I immediately start feeling overwhelmed with the expectation to set goals and crush them. Honestly just thinking of setting goals is exhausting when I’m trying to survive as a stay at home mom who’s trying to keep 3 small tyrants alive.
My pastor started this year off by teaching us about habits. I couldn’t love this word more. I would rather create healthy habits than set goals without actions.
“Our life is the sum total of all the small decisions that we make.”
They say that it takes 21 days to create a new habit. So, for each month I am focusing on one small habit that I want to consistently do every day. After reflecting on last year I realized that I wasn’t reading my bible consistently everyday like I wanted to.
So January’s habit is to read my bible every day. The YouVersion bible app helps me so much to stay on track. You can set reminders, read plans with others without being “together”, and there are SO many different plans to choose from.
I haven’t chosen a new habit for every month of the year because… one day at a time people! But I know that each habit will be something small but important if done consistently.
Drop me a comment below with your habits for the new year 🙂
